Dungeons & Dragons & Dinner!

I have been asked to run a one-shot! A good friend of my husband’s surprised us by asking if I would mind DMing for he, his girlfriend, & two of his other friends. Well, I couldn’t say no so I will be running Dragon of Icespire Peak from the D&D Essentials Kit. I’ll get them from 1-7 & if they really want to keep playing, well, there are 3 other continuation modules that will get them to level 13. (Storm Lord’s Wrath, Sleeping Dragon’s Wake, & Divine Contention)

So I quickly slapped this invitation together (sorry for all the redacted bits!) using Canva (it’s free!) & I’m really happy with the result. I mean, I only tweaked like, 4 things & it’s so beautiful. ^^

Not sure what I’m going to cook for dinner that night, but we’re hoping for some spooky treats, snacks, drinks, & more!

Checking for Traps

Oh I hate when this happens >< It's why I've disallowed it from happening like this. If my players want to check for traps and one fails, I absolutely do not allow the others to clamor and say, "I'm going to check too!" Like, no, the one guy failed, so either you help him and I'll give him advantage or you can each roll separately, but no more than two people working on the task.

Unless of course, it's to my advantage to have them all scrambling, because of course while they're all busy doing that then they're obviously not paying attention to whatever enemy is sneaking up behind them... it's all a matter of waiting. ^^

Plot incoming! Muahahahaha!

Ugh...

...that feeling when you think of a plot for your campaign but it doesn't really fit with the current story so you think of ways to merge the two and it just causes you more headaches than what you already have...

Still! I'll be attempting to adapt this idea not only to D&D, but into the campaign I'm currently running. It'll take a while to fix and implement, but I feel it'll be worth it (I hope) for my players to discover.
