*~*~*~*
“Are
you sure this is the right place?”
“Of
course, I have the map right here, Keth.”
“It’s
not upside down again is it?”
“Nope!”
“And
what did the old man say it looked like? Tiny house by a lake?”
“Yeah,
with a yellow roof and lots of wind chimes. That has to be it over there, right? I bet the people are really super
nice.”
Keth
watched as the young woman he’d found on the side of the road a just two weeks
ago began skipping towards the house. She had turquoise skin, silvery gray
hair, and two little horns that curled at the sides of her head. She wore a
pastel pink dress long enough to cover her tail, and sturdy leather boots she’d
tied pink ribbons onto to, “make them prettier,” she’d said. Keth didn’t really
care about ‘pretty,’ but it was the only way he could get her to buy the boots
in the first place, so he considered it a win in any case.
Sighing,
he walked slowly after her, hoping the job posting she’d found was worth coming
all this way.
