Time to get ahead
or… three?
Had our second D&D session on Thursday, and
thankfully everyone was able to join again. ^^
We stayed in the mining outpost for about 15 days,
just trying to fix up the inn and get the place in order. The DM, impressed by
our ability to sidetrack so quickly and efficiently, allowed us to name it The Giantsbane
Outpost. We also renamed the inn Three Blind Giants.
Returning to Sanctum was rather uneventful, and
the paladin Amilcar was once again standing before us with his pure white
scythe known as the Wing of Bahamut, its eye ever-watchful as he addressed us.
Somewhere in the town of Glenn, a chimera is
wreaking havoc on the townspeople. We are to head there immediately to take
care of it.
Eleven days’ travel bring us to the small town of
Glenn, whereupon we meet the mayor and – after a few accusations from Pinenut
and Torinn about whether or not said mayor is stealing from the town – Torinn
remembers he’d heard a rumor that the creature had been spotted about ten miles
out.
He leaves the tavern immediately, intent on finding
the creature without so much as a plan or asking if we would like to follow
along.
We follow anyway.
It doesn’t take us long to find the creature’s
den, a series of tunnels leading to a large hoard of treasure, but the creature
itself is nowhere to be seen.
A hawk flies overhead.
Torinn is busy looting, Krepsis is hiding in a
tunnel, K’myr is hidden in another tunnel, and Pinenut is sneaking his way
behind a rock.
K’myr’s duplicate appears and begins skipping
through the open field.
The hawk disappears in a cloud of feathers as an
enormous shadow blocks the sun.
Moments later, a thud shakes the burrow. K’myr
looks up to see the large, three-headed and winged beast standing atop her
double, still skipping through the field unphased.
Krepsis is the first to attack, shooting with his
crossbow. Torinn rushes up from the burrow, brandishing his axe and raging.
Within a few minutes, the chimera is dead, Krepsis’
sword sliding in through its spine and severing its head with ease.

As the group is leaving the burrow, K’myr trips
over something buried in the dusty earth. Picking herself up, she pulls the
item out of the dirt to find a bag.
The DM, impressed the K’myr has not asked for nor
really kept anything for herself from any of the loot of the past several
battles, has rewarded her with a Bag of Holding. She promises to fill it with many donuts.
